- Explores the intersection of science and art in Renaissance Italy, and the broad themes of observation, imagination, and invention.
- Topics include engineering, anatomy, botany, zoology, cartography, perspective and ecology.
- Observation will be considered both as a historical topic and as a practical method in the course.
- Students have an opportunity to hone their skills in both writing and drawing through weekly visits to the Museum of Fine Arts and study of original works of art.
