- Seeks to teach students to be more astute receivers and producers of persuasive messages by learning how to dissect them.
- Examines both classical and contemporary theories of persuasion, after which students consider “persuasion in action”—how persuasion is used in everyday language, nonverbal communication, sales techniques, politics, and propaganda.
- Ethical issues in persuasion are addressed throughout the course.
