- Introduces students to the study of crime and deviance with a specific emphasis on immigrant populations and/or Latino communities in the United States.
- Offers students an opportunity to develop an understanding of the historical relationship between patterns of immigration and patterns of crime, to examine the nature and extent of contemporary immigrant crime and victimization, and to assess the social and health consequences associated with crime among Latino and immigrant populations and within immigrant communities.
