DEAF 2500: Deaf History and Culture

- Surveys the history and culture of the American Deaf community and Deaf people in the Western world.
- Focuses on educational, political, and technological forces and events that have positively and negatively affected the American Deaf community.
- Focuses on the American Deaf community as a linguistic and cultural minority.
- Also examines contemporary values and factors that shape and define the diverse American Deaf community and compares and contrasts American Deaf cultural values with those of American society in general.
