- Igoni Barrett’s <em>Blackass</em> from Nigeria); the Americas (Leslie Marmon Silko’s <em>Ceremony</em> from the Laguna people, <em>Popol Vuh</em> from the Mayan peoples, and Isabel Allende's <em>The House of the Spirits</em> from Chile); Asia (Anita Desai, <em>Clear Light of Day</em> from India and Kyung-sook Shin’s <em>Please Look After Mom</em> from South Korea); Europe (Evliya Çelebi’s <em>Book of Travels</em>: <em>The City of Boudonitza</em> from Turkey, Miguel de Cervantes’ <em>Don Quixote</em> from Spain, and François Rabelais’ <em>Gargantua and Pantagruel</em> from France).
