- Discusses the science of sustainable agriculture, fisheries, and aquaculture.
- Examines the issues related to nutrition and hunger, food safety, and food production in the face of a changing climate with a scientific lens.
- Using the FAO Global Food Security and Strategy document and other peer-reviewed literature, compares the food issues in the United States with those in the developing world, including sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia.
- Explores the many issues related to food production and environmental sustainability—including fertilizer use, GMOs, and pollution—and local examples of sustainable food production.
- Discusses the ways in which we can potentially remedy many of the issues involved in providing food for more than 7 billion people worldwide.
