- Focuses on linear algebra, vector analysis, ordinary, and partial differential equations with mechanical engineering applications.
- Topics include linear algebra, linear vector spaces, matrices, and eigenvectors; vector field theory, curvilinear coordinates, and integral theorems; power series methods for second order linear ODEs, special functions, Sturm-Liouville theory, and orthogonal function expansions including Fourier series; second order linear PDEs including the Laplace, diffusion, and wave equations and solution techniques such as separation of variables and orthogonal function decomposition.
