- Continues NRSG 6431.
- Offers the final course in the series focusing on the acquisition of clinical skills and expertise necessary for patient management of the high-risk neonate and family.
- Provides the student with intensified experience in the hospital neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) providing direct care under the supervision of NNP or neonatologist preceptors.
- The student is responsible for daily management of a specified caseload of neonates and their families.
- Proficient delivery room management of the high-risk neonate is an expectation.
- The student should exhibit the ability to function as an independent novice practitioner with preceptor support.
