- Offers students an opportunity to obtain a solid understanding of the political, philosophical, and legal dimensions of human rights as well as an overview of some of the current debates in human rights.
- Discusses the intellectual history of human rights and explores their philosophical and historical roots.
- Examines their legal and political dimensions and human rights laws and institutions.
- Explores in-depth a number of contemporary human rights issues including genocide, women’s rights, children’s rights, refugees, and torture.
