- Focuses on the physiological and practical aspects of medication use in the elderly; healthcare delivery systems; the role of healthcare professionals in providing geriatric care; and the management of geriatric syndromes.
- Caring for the aging population requires a patient-centered approach that encompasses the patient’s health goals, a complex psychosocial landscape, as well as the physiologic changes associated with aging.
- It is imperative for healthcare professionals to understand the interplay of these factors in order to appropriately assess, treat, and improve outcomes for the older adult population.
